Now Playing Tracks

Bodegas Ondarre is one of the first Rioja producers I ever had years ago while working in retail. I recently saw the 2006 Ursa Maior Reserva on a wine shop list (WIne Library) and I had to go for it.

It’s a really modern style for those of you that love a new world wine, but this is decidedly old world with a bunch more earthy spicy qualities that’s a great find. This 2006 is a blend made from mostly Tempranillo, which is a super grape variety to drink as we go into spring, tends to be a bit lighter but still with some “umph.”

Happy Spring!
