Wine for Beer Drinkers | Wine Folly -
Going into this holiday weekend, I know many of you are thinking of drinking a nice cold beer….just a little education for those out there form one of my fav wine sites.
Some good friends got married last weekend and as a gift to the guests they had a Salmanazar of Pol Roger Champagne. That’s equal to 12 bottles of Champagne…admittedly I did have my fair share of that bottle myself.
Congrats B & T!

Do you enjoy Indian cuisine? Do you like New York? Do you drink wine? If you answered yes to even one of these questions, this class is for you!
We have expanded this class to include more wine and more food pairings! This time we tackle Indian fare with New York wines. You heard me right, we have an expert Chef in Indian cuisine which will be a terrific pairing with the cool climate wines of the Finger Lakes.
We will cover topics such as:
You’ll be able to ask anything about wine and get helpful tips to pick the perfect wine to go with any situation.
We will taste at least four great value wines from New York featuring the Finger Lakes (think wines like Riesling) that you can enjoy all summer. In addition, Chef Mahima will prepare, present and provide three perfectly paired noshes of Indian fare. All food will be natutslly gluten free as well!!!
With these nuggets of knowledge, you’ll be in the coolest wine-nerd in the room!
I’m gonna guess this means I’m close to about 75 tons of wine so far in my life?!
Someone check my math.
40 Under 40: America's Tastemakers -
While I am just barely too old to make this list (wink), I am inspired that there are so many youngins doing great wine work out there. Especially Matt Stamp, a tireless leader of the Court of Master Sommelier community, Joe Campanale of several wonderful NYC restaurants and a blind tasting class colleague and Laura Maniec, owner of Corkbuzz and a tremendously wonderful wine mentor, educator and person.
I wanna be like all of you when I grow up! : )

Loved this Italian rose of Nebbiolo from Parusso. I’ve never had a rose of this variety usually in Barolo, so it was extra nerdy and fun.
Gorgeous rich dark pink color and with a striking about of bold fruit that will pair with pretty much anything. I had it by itself and it was delightful.
Tis the season for Rosato!
